What is a Root Domain?

The root domain is the core of a website's domain name, consisting of the unique domain name and top-level domain (TLD), but not including any subdomains or paths.

It represents the highest hierarchical level of a website accessible through the internet, under which various subdomains and paths can be created to organize different sections or functions of a website.

For example, our root domain is 'goodmetrics.io' and excludes paths like '/glossary'.
