What is CTR (Click-Through Rate)?
Click-through rate is a metric that measures the ratio of users who click on a specific link to the number of total users who view a page, email, or advertisement.
It is commonly used to gauge the effectiveness of online advertising campaigns and the appeal of website content.
How to calculate click-through-rate
CTR is calculated by dividing the number of clicks an ad or a link receives by the number of times it's shown (impressions).
CTR = Number of Clicks / Number of Impressions
For example, if your ad was shown 1,000 times in the search results and received 200 clicks, the CTR would be:
CTR = 200 / 1,000 = 20%
